A Holiday Message

Wishing you all a great Holiday Season!

As the year ends, I would like to share my thanks and gratitude to each of you.

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and University Hospital of Brooklyn could not function and be successful without the dedication and hard work of each of our students, faculty, and staff who is part of the Downstate family.

Your resolve through each challenge faced and overcome is laudable, and I am proud of every accomplishment attributed to Downstate, whether through research, clinical, or educational pursuits.

While the holidays represent different things for us, it is also a great time to reconnect with our families, friends, and other loved ones while enjoying the festivity. Our diverse Downstate community celebrates a variety of cultural customs in honoring the rich mosaic we share as part of New York City’s beautiful melting pot, where we value, respect, enjoy, and welcome each culture’s unique traits. These values make Downstate an institution filled with pride.

I encourage you to relax safely during the holidays and reflect on how we can make 2023 an even better year.
