Jameela Yusuff, M.D., MPH, MSHCDL, FACP

Chief Medical Officer
University Hospital at Downstate

    Dr. Yusuff, is the first female Chief Medical Officer at the University Hospital at Downstate (UHD). She serves as a key member of the executive leadership team at UHD, and works closely with our physicians at the hospital. She is responsible for the centralized assessment and redesign of all systems to enhance the delivery of high quality and efficient medical care.

    Dr. Yusuff has an established track record of creating and implementing programs that consistently achieve excellence. She started her journey at Downstate as a Clinician for the STAR Program in 2006. Dr. Yusuff quickly made an impact and became the STAR Program’s Medical Director in 2012. Dr. Yusuff received her Medical Degree and her Masters’ in Healthcare Delivery Leadership from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She also received her Masters’ in Public Health from the SUNY Downstate School of Public Health.
