John Weigand, AuD, F-AAA

Dr. John Weigand, has been Chief Audiologist at Downstate Health Sciences University since 2000. In addition to providing clinical services to all ages, Dr. Weigand’s responsibilities include leadership and management of the division, ensuring that his team receives the proper mentorship and guidance to maintain a standard of excellence. He is also responsible for maintaining the Quality Assurance and compliance with standards set by the profession and facility. Dr. Weigand frequently collaborates with other healthcare professionals to integrate audiology into the broader healthcare framework. Dr. Weigand has developed a program to train Audiology students and residents. The educational program currently has affiliations with a number of universities under which their students are placed under Dr. Weigand’s supervision for their internships and final year of Doctoral training. Dr. Weigand has become known for offering community education and outreach and development of a popular Hearing Screening program serving the adult population.
