Aida Bounama MD is an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon based in New York City. She attended Dartmouth College where she excelled academically and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She completed medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and then completed a 2-year ophthalmic plastic & reconstructive surgery fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she had rigorous training in functional, cosmetic, and orbital oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Bounama practiced ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery in Houston, Texas for multiple years before relocating to her home city of New York, where she is now Clinical Associate Professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. She currently sees patients at Kings County Hospital, Woodhull Hospital, and in her private practice. Outside of work she enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and reading.
