David M. Sherer, MD, graduated his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Hebrew University School of Medicine, Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel, and his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY. Currently, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, at the State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate Health Sciences University, he is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Sherer is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM) and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG).
Dr. Sherer has authored above 375 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals,
including invited Editorial and Commentary papers (cited more than 5,000 times), and
currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine
(JUM), official publication of AIUM and Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (UOG),
official publication of ISUOG. Until recently (July 2024) he served on the Editorial
Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, official publication of ACOG, and previously for
many years, the American Journal of Perinatology (AJP).
