Dr. Peters is a Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist at University Hospital at Downstate, where she also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor and Clerkship Director. Dr. Peters is a skilled minimally-invasive surgeon, with special expertise in laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgical procedures for numerous gynecological pathologies.

Dr. Peters has received a number of honors and awards for her dedication to teaching both residents and medical students, including the Association of Professors in Gynecology & Obstetrics Excellence in Teaching Award and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists National Faculty Award for Excellence in Residents Education in 2024.

Dr. Peters was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas before moving to New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Art in Spanish and Latin American Literatures and Cultures from New York University in 2009. She attended State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University, where she earned her Master in Public Health from the School of Public Health in 2014 and her Medical Degree from the College of Medicine in 2018.  Dr. Peters completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Internship and Residency at New York Medical College - Westchester Medical Centers, where she was Administrative Chief Resident, prior to returning to work in the Downstate community.
