Angeliki Papavlassopulos, MD, MBA, FACOG

Dr. Angeliki Papavlassopulos is a native New Yorker who was born at SUNY Downstate Health Science University, where she completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program in 2016. In 2007, Dr. Papavlassopulos graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition. She subsequently become a Doctor after completing medical school at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia in 2012.

After completing her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Papavlassopulos was honored to continue as a Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. In 2020, after redirecting and maintaining the hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Outpatient services during the COVID pandemic, Dr. Papavlassopulos was appointed the Medical Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Ambulatory Care Services. In 2023, Dr. Papavlassopulos received an MBA (Summa Cum Laude) with a concentration in Healthcare at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Dr. Papavlassopulos has spent most of her adult life working with various marginalized communities all over New York and has joined multiple committees whose main priority is to improve health disparities in maternity care.  In her early career, she has had a myriad of experiences in teaching in underserved communities. In 2023, she was appointed the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Director and the Director of the Medical Education Division.  She is currently involved in working with medical students, residents and faculty on the academic progress of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Program.
