Dr. Ovadia Abulafia is Professor and Chairman Emeritus in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Dr. Abulafia received his MD degree from the Tel-Aviv University Saclder School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and later completed a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester, in Rochester New York. Dr. Abulafia is a Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and Gynecologic Oncologist.
Dr. Abulafia has an academic record of excellence. He has national and international recognition in his field of Gynecologic Oncology. He has served on the National Committee that establishes the standard of care for the clinical management of cervical cancer malignancies. Dr. Abulafia is also an established educator in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Within this realm, he teaches medical students.
