Yahia M Lodi MD, is a highly experienced and skilled Neuroendovascular Surgery specialist, who is CAST certified in Neuroendovascular Surgery. Dr. Lodi is board certified in Neurocritical Care, vascular Neurology, Neuroimaging and Neurology. Dr. Lodi is one of the pioneers who provides the most advanced individualized care to his patients. Dr. Lodi dedicated his life for patient care, education and research for advancing therapies in brain aneurysms and stroke who collaboratively worked with all state holders to improve the quality of care for the health systems he served.
At, Present, Dr. Lodi is the Chief of Neuroendovascular and Stroke Services, and Vice-Chair of Neurology at OBH-Brookdale University Hospital. He is also the Director of Neuroendovascular and Interventional Neurology at OBH-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Lodi is a Tenured Professor and Vice Chair of Neurology at Downstate Health Sciences University. Prior to this position, Dr. Lodi was a Tenured Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Radiology at Upstate Medical University and Academic Chair in Binghamton Clinical Camus for 17 years building the world class programs saving hundreds of patients’ lives.
Dr. Lodi received top 800 Press Ganey physicians based on patients’ reviews. Dr. Lodi treats acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, carotid artery stenosis, vertebral artery stenosis, intracranial carotid, vertebral and basilar artery stenosis, brain aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation (AVM), arteriovenous fistula (AVF), head and neck tumors require embolization, embolization of Middle meningeal artery for SDH, embolization of ENT active bleeders. Dr. Lodi's philosophy in patients care is to cure or to modify the cerebrovascular diseases without imparting quality of life and preventing disabilities.
Dr. Lodi enhanced his field by cutting edge education, research and publications in his fields. He was the Neurosciences clerkship director over 12 year at Upstate Medical University, Binghamton, NY. He trained many fellows and mentored hundreds of residents and students since 2000 leading to more than 200 presentations and publications in national and international peer reviewed journals including many book chapters. He published first primary thrombectomy in 2014, when stroke mechanical thrombectomy was not a standard of care. He developed a large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke scale "Gaze, weakness, neglect, speech (GWNS)" and first STROKE management APP in 2023 created by his trainees.
Dr. Lodi received numerous awards as the best teachers, mentors and researchers. Most importantly Dr. Lodi’s patients admire his dedicated individualized care, which he delivers with respect, trust and compassions improving patients’ outcomes.
