Dr. Smith has over a decade of clinical expertise in outpatient orthopedics, neurology, and vestibular rehabilitation. She holds board certification in orthopedic physical therapy and advanced vestibular and concussion rehabilitation credentials.

Dr. Smith earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University and is pursuing an EdD in Movement Science at Teachers College, Columbia University, focusing on motor learning and control. Her research interests center on postural control and cognitive-motor interference in older adults with mild cognitive impairment and athletes with concussion. Dr. Smith has held previous teaching appointments at Ithaca College and Long Island University, where she mentored students and coordinated foundational physical therapy courses.

Dr. Smith is an engaged leader within the American Physical Therapy Association and the New York Physical Therapy Association, having served as Speaker of the Assembly and currently holding positions on both the Nominating and Judicial Reference Committees. Her appointment reflects our continued investment in faculty who bring clinical strength, academic rigor, and a passion for guiding students in today’s evolving healthcare landscape.
