Dr. Brooks is a board certified Family Medicine physician. She graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her training at New York Presbyterian - Columbia University. While at Columbia, she served as Chief Resident and completed a faculty development fellowship with a focus on inpatient clinical care and resident education, and effective remediation practices at the graduate medical education level.

Dr. Brooks chose Family Medicine because of her commitment to serving the underserved while advocating for equitable healthcare reform. Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Brooks was an elementary school teacher and received her Masters in Special Education. Dr. Brooks was thrilled to join the team at SUNY Downstate as the Primary Care Clerkship Director so she can continue her passion for education but also inspire future physicians to join the amazing and fulfilling field of Family Medicine!
