Valerie is a graduate of the Long Island University with a B.S. in Health Sciences. A former intern with the Brooklyn-Queens-Long Island Area Health Education Center and a SPRINTER intern CO'2023. She has avid interests in biomedicine and public health. As a rising leader in public health and health advocacy, Valerie worked with the Commission on the Public's Health System to design and implement a survey to capture the "invisible experiences during COVID-19." This survey was dedicated to addressing health disparities and advocating for policy change. In our office, Valerie collaborates on the evaluation of the effectiveness of our BK-SWAG/CHAMPS High School program and the impact of removing race from eGFR screeners that measure kidney function and health.
