Dr. Sridesh Nath earned his medical degree from the Government Medical College in Trivandrum, India. He then completed his internal medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. During his residency, he conducted research on immune responses in COPD, with a focus on Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and the role of phosphatases, under the mentorship of Dr. Patrick Geraghty.

Following residency, Dr. Nath pursued a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he used large datasets to phenotype ARDS in patients with underlying COPD. In 2023, he returned to SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University as a Critical Care attending and continues research in the Geraghty lab.
