Dr. Ernest Garnier is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he has been on the faculty since 2004. Dr. Garnier is currently the Director of the Internal Medicine Ambulatory Care Clinic and Site Director for the UHB Medical Ambulatory Resident Clinic.
Dr. Garnier earned his bachelor of Science degree at Columbia University. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree from as well as a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Services University.
He is dual board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
Dr. Garnier is an academic primary care general internist with more than 15 years of patient care and leadership experiences in academic medicine, academic health center administration, and health care management.
He’s been recognized regionally for excellence in teaching, patient care and community service, including as an inductee into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, recipient of the Samuel Klontz Excellence in Mentoring Award and The Medical Society of the State of New York Community Service Award.
