Education Fund - School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies recognizes the importance of developing its students to their highest potential with programming that includes traditional graduate education activities (introducing students to potential advisors, seminars, off-campus research presentations, course work, lab work) and professional development (activities that promote student networking and career experience beyond SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University).

The Graduate School Education Fund was established to enhance the educational and professional opportunities for our PhD and M.D./PhD students. The fund helps support seminar series on-campus with experts from the biomedical sciences and engineering, providing students the chance to meet informally with these distinguished researchers after the formal presentation. Scientists working in industry, finance, technology transfer, or their own companies  are also invited to discuss these career options with our students. The Education Fund provides graduate students with support to attend conferences and professional meetings.  Each year the Graduate School Education Fund supports several travel awards for outstanding platform and poster presentations at Annual Research Day, allowing top graduate students to present their research at national and international conferences.  Other activities and programming that enhance the education and/or professional development of our students are also appropriate.

If you would like to support this endeavor, please consider an online gift to the Education Fund.
