integral part of the only academic medical center in Brooklyn. Our team of Nurse Educators
are at the forefront of evidence-based nursing practice. Our diverse patients and

The Scope of Services for the Department of Nursing Education, Practice, and Education and the Institute of Continuous Learning (ICL) includes the assessment of learning needs, diagnosis and analysis of needs assessment data to determine target audiences, identification of educational programs to be delivered and outcomes to be achieved, planning educational programs, implementing educational programs, and evaluating achievement of learning outcomes and associated competencies of educational programs.
The Department of Nursing Education, Practice, and Research provides educational programming that recognizes the diverse learning needs of our nursing staff designed to enable them to provide culturally congruent care to our patients and their families. Specifically, we provide:

The Department of Nursing Education, Practice, and Research is also a New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) approved provider of Contact Hours for Nursing Education Programs.
The Department of Nursing Education, Practice, and Research and the Institute of Continuous Learning will be the center of excellence in Nursing Education and Evidence-based Nursing Practice in Brooklyn.
