Gaylene Tannis, PA joined the staff of Family Health Services in 1996 as a physician assistant with her own panel of patients. Mrs. Tannis received her training in SUNY Downstate's Physician Assistant Program, which awarded her the Bachelor of Science degree and Physician Assistant Certificate in 1995. Shortly after graduating, she obtained a position as physician assistant at the Enhanced Access Clinic of St. Mary's Hospital, where she worked until the opportunity at Family Health Services became available.
Mrs. Tannis began her career in health care by earning the A.A.S. degree in Medical Technology from New York City Technical College in January 1985. She joined the staff of SUNY Downstate immediately upon graduation as a Research Medical Technician, and she continued in this position for the next eleven years, during which time she earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Brooklyn College (1991). Mrs. Tannis continues to work closely with Dr. Aghabi to help meet the primary care needs of our Family Health Services community.
