SUNY Downstate Medical Center
Biennial Survey of the Campus on Sexual and Interpersonal Violence
You will soon be receiving our biennial survey of the campus climate on sexual and interpersonal violence conducted by SUNY of all students and employees. For security and legitimacy purposes, the survey link comes from firstname.lastname@example.org and will include your first name in the salutation and full name at the bottom of the email. Please expect the email to reach you during the week of Monday, March 25, 2019. You can fill out the survey between Monday, March 25, 2019 and Sunday, April 21, 2019.
Pursuant to New York State Law (Education Law 129-B) and SUNY Board Resolutions, we are required to conduct a uniform climate survey. The survey asks about student and employee understanding of policies regarding sexual and interpersonal violence and harassment; and the prevalence of violence and harassment. This survey will help SUNY and its campuses better understand, the experiences of its students and employees which can drive policy changes and resource creation. The survey is completely optional and the University has no way to identify the person who submitted the survey or tie answers back to them.
Students who complete the survey will be entered for one of 150 $100 Amazon gift cards (the incentive survey is optional). To ensure anonymity of data, the incentives survey is a separate instrument that is permanently severed from the main climate survey.
Any student or employee seeking on or off campus services and resources may access them at any time, anonymously through the SUNY SAVR resource, response.suny.edu.
