SUNY Downstate Medical Center has an extensive and proud history as Brooklyn's Premier Academic medical Center. The Department of Urology is part of a vast academic, clinical and research network that is dedicated to keeping Brooklyn and all other borough residents active and healthy.

Our department and accredited residency program is under the leadership of Chairman Jeffrey P. Weiss MD. Our program includes affiliations with renowned medical centers such as , the combined SUNY Downstate University Hospital Brooklyn (UHB/Kings County Hospital Center (KCHC) VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn Campus, Long Island College Hospital (LICH), Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH), The Brooklyn Hospital (TBH) and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).
