Damian Bird is the project coordinator for the emergency department rapid HIV testing program at the University Hospital of Brooklyn. For over three years he has worked to promote and increase the visibility, usage, and acceptance of routinized HIV testing within the emergency room setting among patients as well as providers and nursing staff. He has a background in recruitment, retention, and risk reduction education of at risk participants for HIV vaccine and HIV prevention trials. He holds a master of public health degree with a concentration in community health education and is a certified health education specialist. |
