Case Management

Magna Robinson, MA, LMHC, CASAC, ADS

Ms. Robinson has over 10 years experience in the provision of services to patients with psychiatric, substance and alcohol problems. She holds a NYS license in mental health counseling and is a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) as well as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) and Reiki Master. Ms. Robinson joined the SHC in 2002 as a substance use counselor and, in 2007, assumed the position of Case Management Supervisor. Prior to joining SUNY-DMC, she worked at the Methadone Clinic of Albert Einstein Hospital. Ms. Robinson is bilingual English/Spanish.


Debra Toyloy, BA

Ms. Toyloy has provided case management and counseling services to patients and families for over 20 years. Ms Toyloy joined SHC in 1997 as a case manager assisting patients in obtaining entitlements and benefits. She also participates in SHC outreach and health fairs. Prior to joining SHC Ms. Toyloy worked as HIV case manager at South Brooklyn Health Center.

Rosa Benitez, BSW

 Rosa Benitez has worked in the field of human services for 22 years.  She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree at Audrey Cohen College and is a Certified Mental Health Aide.  Ms. Benitez is currently working on CASAC credentialing. Her goal is to strengthen the family unit within the STAR Health Center as the FFHC Case Manager.  

Maria Adamson, BA

Maria Adamson joined the STAR Program’s medical case management care coordination team as a Patient Navigator in April 2012. In that role, she provided field-based health education, coaching and empowerment on a weekly basis to STAR Health Center patients. In August 2015, Ms. Adamson was promoted to Medical Case Manager with the Family-Focused HIV Health Care for Women Program (FFHCP). Ms. Adamson has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the College of New Rochelle. Prior to joining STAR, she provided case management services for the NYC Human Resources Administration’s Begin Employment, Gain Independence Now (BEGIN) Program.
