About:

Dr. Scott Lehto is a board certified radiologist specializing in musculoskeletal imaging.  Originally a resident of California, Dr. Lehto graduated from Pomona College. He subsequently moved to New York City to attend the Weill Medical College of Cornell University where he obtained his medical degree.  Dr. Lehto pursued an internship in Internal Medicine at New York University followed by residency training in radiology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center where he was chief resident.  His advanced training in musculoskeletal imaging was obtained during his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. 

Dr. Lehto has extensive experience in musculoskeletal MRI and CT and performs ultrasound and fluoroscopic joint and spine procedures, including myelography and cortisone injections.  He has published several papers in peer reviewed orthopedics journals and his research has been presented at the national meetings of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Lehto is a reviewer of manuscripts for the Journal of Trauma.

An outstanding educator, Dr. Lehto currently holds an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and served as the Assistant Director of the radiology residency program from 2008 - 2011. He also works as an attending physician at the Kings County Hospital Center.

Dr. Lehto has a special interest in sports medicine imaging.
