About:

Dr. Kolla graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical College in 2001 and went on do his internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He did his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. His fellowship was in Musculoskeletal Imaging at University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Kolla returned back to his medical school to join as a faculty member in the Department of Radiology in July 2007. His clinical interests include diagnostic musculoskeletal imaging, conventional and MR arthrography, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and image-guided bone and soft tissue biopsies.

He is actively involved with resident and medical student teaching. He has won the Radiology Teacher of the Year Award for 2007-2008 at King’s County Hospital and for 2008-2009 at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Dr. Kolla’s research interests are in bone/soft tissue tumor imaging and sports injuries.

He works both at Downstate and at Kings County Hospital.
