About:

Dr. David Steven Dinhofer is a board certified radiologist recently joining the Downstate Medical Center staff specializing in Emergency Radiology. Dr. Dinhofer grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Abraham Lincoln, H.S. in Coney Island. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Biomaterials Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, La. Dr. Dinhofer completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was Chief Resident. He also completed six months of a cardiology fellowship at Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Dinhofer went on to do his radiology training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and received his American Board Certification in Radiology in 1990. Dr. Dinhofer was in private practice until he joined the SUNY-Downstate staff at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor in September, 2009. He is actively involved in teaching residents and medical students. His clinical expertise is in cross sectional imaging with focus on ER radiology.
