What is Public Health?
The goal of public health research and programs is to protect the health of our population – as individuals and communities. Public health work involves studying relationships between health and environmental factors, nutrition, social and biological factors. Public health workers determine which groups of people are at greatest risk of disease, and find ways to help. Public health programs warn communities of health risks and promote healthy lifestyles.
