Background and Expertise:

Dr. Rosenberg obtained a BS in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook in 1974, an MS in Ecology from Pennsylvania State University in 1976, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences / Epidemiology from CUNY / Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in 1983. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Epidemiology/Biostatistics at the NYU School of Medicine/Department of Environmental Medicine in 1985 and then joined the Environmental Medicine faculty. His main duties at NYU included research in chronic disease epidemiology, assisting physicians in research and clinical trials, and teaching medical and graduate students. From 1993 to 1995, Dr. Rosenberg was Director of Data Analysis at IPRO where he oversaw projects dealing with health care quality and utilization in New York State hospitals. In 1995 he moved to the New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) where he was Director of Research for the following 7 years. His main function at NYHQ was to assist the faculty and residents in the design and analysis of research studies and clinical trials. In 2002 Dr. Rosenberg moved from academia to the pharmaceutical industry, first with Taro Pharmaceuticals, a generic manufacturer (5 years), and then with Eisai Corporation, a brand-name manufacturer (4 years). As Director of Biostatistics, he oversaw the design and analysis of phase II and III cardiovascular, dermatologic, and neurologic clinical trials.
