CYTOGENETICSGoals and Objectives Cytogenetics training occurs at the Wyckoff Hospital under the direction of Dr. Babu. The rotation is for a period of two weeks and offers the resident the opportunity to evaluate cytogenetics cases using the state of the art techniques and to write interpretive reports based on the findings. During the rotation the resident should be able to demonstrate knowledge of cytogenetics and the cytogenetics laboratory by satisfactory participation in daily activities. In addition, the resident should demonstrate diagnostic competence with the diagnosis of abnormal karyotypes based on cytogenetics studies and related clinical history, and satisfactorily discuss daily assigned cytogenetics topics according to a list provided by the Cytogenetics laboratory staff. During training in cytogenetics, the resident should be able to do the following according to each of the six ACGME competencies: PATIENT CARE MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE PRACTICE-BASED LEARNING AND IMPROVEMENT INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS PROFESSIONALISM SYSTEMS BASED PRACTICE
