Background and Expertise
Dr. Weitzner graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Montefiore Hospital. He has been in private practice in Brooklyn and Manhattan since 1992, and has privileges at Manhattan Eye and Ear, Maimonides and Beth Israel Hospitals. He is board certified and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During medical school, Dr. Weitzner's research in macular degeneration was published in Archives of Ophthalmology and presented at ARVO.
Dr. Weitzner previously supervised residents at Jacobi and Maimonides Hospitals. He presently is a Physician Specialist and supervises residents on a part-time basis in the ophthalmology clinic and operating room of the Kings County Hospital Center. His surgical focus there is on cataract, glaucoma and pterygium surgery.
