Background and Expertise
Himani Goyal, MD, is a board certified ophthalmologist who serves as attending ophthalmologist at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and the VA Medical Center in Brooklyn where she specializes in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery. She also sees patients at the Lazzaro Eye Center, 7901 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Dr. Goyal serves as Coordinator of Medical Student Education for the Department of Ophthalmology at Downstate and was recently honored for faculty excellence in resident teaching. She also serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration and is on the Knowledge Base Panel for Cornea and External Disease with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
She is a member of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Her research has been presented at the 2009 and 2012 annual meetings hosted by ARVO and at the 2009 conference of ASCRS.
