Block 6: Renal System

The main objective of the renal bock teaching for students understand how the pathology of kidney function effects the control of body fluid homeostasis. The effect and treatment of inflammatory, infection, immunologic and congenital abnormalities on kidney function is emphasized. Infectious, inflammatory and congenital abnormalities on kidney function is emphasized. Infection, inflammatory and obstructive disease of the lower urinary tract are discussed. The block includes the role of the kidney as a cause and the multiple pharmacologic modalities used to treat hypertension.
