Block 2: Skin & Connective Tissue

The overall objectives are to teach the cell biology of epithelium, connective tissue and skin with an emphasis on structure, function and biochemistry.

Content includes the role of the intercellular junctions, gap junctions, desmosomes and secretory processes in maintaining epithelial integrity.

The teaching modalities include lectures, histology laboratories and case-based seassions concerning informative skin diseases.
