The best things in life are free, and SUNY Downstate Medical Center’s Health Fair is no exception, providing free health screenings, health information, and entertainment.
The fair will take place on Saturday, May 20, from 11am-3pm, in front of University Hospital of Brooklyn’s main entrance on Lenox Road between E. 35th and E. 37th streets.
Among the many free offerings are asthma, hearing, vision and glaucoma, prostate, and blood pressure screenings.  Health professionals will be on hand to conduct clinical breast exams, PAP smears, pregnancy tests, and HIV tests.  The fair will have many fun-filled activities and gifts and refreshments will be available for the whole family.
“We want community members in Brooklyn to take advantage of the many health screenings available to them and to learn about healthy living,” said Maria Yomtov, director of the Center for Community Health Promotion and Wellness, adding, “SUNY Downstate Medical Center is here for the community to meet its healthcare needs by offering advanced medical technology and the best health care services available in the tri-state area.”
“Where Miracles Happen Everyday” is this year’s health fair theme.  For more information call (718) 270-2020 or (718) 270-3739.
