Department of NeurosurgeryEpilepsySUNY Downstate Medical Center offers a range of surgical treatments for medically refractory epilepsy including: vagal nerve stimulators, temporal lobecotmies as well as staged resections using cortical mapping of seizure foci. WADA testing to evaluate speech and memory lateralization is performed by our neurointerventionalist.
