The Adult Neurology Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center is a fully accredited academic neurology residency. We now have a fully integrated categorical program that includes 1 year of Internal Medicine and 3 years of Adult Neurology residency. We accept 7 residents per year.
Located on the campus of SUNY Downstate Medical School and in three of its teaching hospitals, the training program begins with the fundamentals of clinical neurology and progresses to include the subspecialties and basic neurosciences, providing the framework to develop future contributions to the field.
The SUNY Downstate Neurology Department also supports a Pediatric Neurology Residency, a Clinical Electrophysiology Fellowship, and a Stroke Fellowship. We also run the Neurology Clerkship, Subinternship, and elective rotations in adult and pediatric neurology for the medical school.
