Ninad Desai, MD Ninad Desai, MDAssistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, SUNY Downstate Medical Center Publications Education: Dr. Desai received his MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, in 1981, and his MD from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, in 1984. Postdoctoral Training: Dr. Desai was a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at State University of New York-University Hospital of Brooklyn, in 1995 as well as Chief Residence in Pediatrics at State University of New York-University Hospital of Brooklyn, and Kings County Hospital Center 1996. Clinical and Programmatic Leadership: Director, Pediatric HIV Services, Kings County Hospital Center Director, Pediatric Inpatient Services, Kings County Hospital Center Research Participation: Research work focused on disclosure of diagnosis to long-term survivors of perinatal HIV infection; Issues of puberty and sexuality in an HIV-infected pediatricadolescent population; Prospective study of viral load measurements in children with HIV infection and its utility in clinical practice; Malignancies in pediatric AIDS.
