Education:
Dr. Sharma received her BA in Sociology from Northwestern University in 1994, and her MD from Northwestern University Medical School in 1998. She received her Diploma in Clinical Tropical Medicine from the Gorgas Memorial Institute of Tropical and Preventive Medicine, Lima, Peru in 2002, and her MS in Clinical Research Methods from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York in 2005.

Postdoctoral Training:

Dr. Sharma completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2001, and her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2005.

Clinical and Programmatic Leadership:
Medical Director, Inpatient HIV Services, SUNY Downstate Medical Center

Research Participation:
Research interests include epidemiologic studies of HIV infection and AIDS, infectious diseases, and international health.
