AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC)

The AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) provides on-site HIV training for health care providers in Brooklyn and Staten Island, targeting community-based clinics, hospitals, and substance abuse treatment programs that provide HIV care.The training population includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, nursing assistants, dentists, dental assistants, and health care support service professionals. For those clinicians who would like experiential training in HIV care, AETC organizes observational preceptorships at the STAR Health Center. Funding for this program is provided by HRSA through a subcontract with Columbia University.
