Application to The School of Graduate Studies PhD Programs

The application cycle for all programs (Molecular & Cellular Biology, Neural & Behavioral Science and Biomedical Engineering) is now closed for Fall 2013.
The application cycle for Fall 2014 will open in August 2013.

Step 1

Fill out the on-line Application

Online application only for prospective PhD students - MD/PhD students should file this form, and may add additional recommendation letters (Step 2 below) to their AMCAS application if they would like.

Application to the PhD programs includes:

  1. Registering and completing the on-line portion of the Application.
  2. Printing the on-line application Signature Page to include with your Application package.

You will then be directed to return to this page to complete the following:

Recommendation letter template (2 letters required)

Step 3

Mail the Signature Sheet, test scores, transcripts, letters of recommendation, application fee of $50 (payable to SUNY) and any other materials to:

A complete, self-administered application package is required for admission to the School of Graduate Studies. A complete application includes all of the items listed on the Summary/Signature Page (at the end of the application process) .

  • Type or print your name at the top of any separate sheet of paper sent separately.
  • All materials are required to be received by the application due-date in order for the application to be considered.
  • We rely on email as our primary means of communication with applicants. It is essential that you provide a valid email account on your application form and keep us updated if you change your email and/or your postal mailing address.
