WHAT'S NEW

          1. Property Control has a New Webpage:

The Property Control Department has put up a new webpage to enhance its service to the Downstate community.  The site explains the department's mission and provides information on, for example, physical inventory process and equipment policies.  It also makes available various property control forms and includes links to NYS Office of State Comptroller website. The new webpage is at http://www.downstate.edu/property.

           2. RDD Timesheet Transmittals:

A special system was developed to capture each department's current personnel data to assist the RDDs (Responsible Department Designees) in the submission of employee timesheets.  The data is sorted by Payroll Drop Code and will be automatically updated when personnel changes occur.  Instructions on how to use the system and the link to access the system are available at http://www.downstate.edu/finance.

           3. Occasional Driving Plan:

The Faculty Student Association (FSA) has signed a contract with Zipcar offering special discounted membership at $25 for Downstate's students, faculty and employees.  Example of the cost involved is from $8 per hour to $77 for a 24-hour period during the week with gas, insurance and 180 free miles included (additional miles from $.45 per mile).  There are two Zipcars available at the E 34th Street garage ready for your use.  Reservations are done online and your membership card allows you access to the vehicle.  Additional information available at http://www.downstate.edu/fsa/zipcar.html.

           4. SUNY DMC OneCARD:

Starting this Fall, Downstate faculty, staff and students will receive a new identification card, the DMC OneCARD.  This card will provide a cohesive infrastructure that ensures regulatory compliancy and a mechanism by which authorized access to DMC facilities, computer network, and core clinical and business applications like Lawson, Healthbridge, Banner, may be managed from a single point.  The eCommerce function of this card can be utilized in the cafeteria, library, bookstore or at vending machines, laundry room, etc.  The card can also be used as digital signature for signing emails, electronic documents or transactions.  More information coming.
