The Health Science Center at Brooklyn Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit tax-exempt corporation incorporated in 1976 to establish, operate, manage, promote, and cultivate educationally related activities for the students and faculty of the Downstate Medical Center. The Foundation receives and manages bequests, donations, endowments, charitable unitrusts and other funds which are legitimately non-State revenue.
The Foundation also provides bookkeeping and banking type services to the institution, and operates a parking lot between Parkside Avenue and Winthrop Street.
