Winsome Wildman, RNC, MSN, FNP
Department of Family Medicine
Winsome Wildman came to Wingate Health Center (George W. Wingate High School campus) in 2001 to assume responsibility as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Program Administrator. In this capacity, she is also a faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine with the title of Clinical Instructor.
Ms. Wildman's career in health care began in Jamaica in 1981, when she completed a three year Nursing certification program at Excelsior Community College in Kingston and became a Staff Nurse on a pediatric surgical unit at University Hospital of the West Indies. In 1983, she relocated to Scotland, where she earned certification in Midwifery at Northern College of Nursing and Midwifery Training in Glasgow two years later. Ms. Wildman came to Brooklyn in 1985, assuming the position of Staff Nurse on a maternity unit at Brookdale Hospital. Since 1988, Ms. Wildman has been a Staff Nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Brookdale Hospital. She also held other part-time clinical and teaching positions during the 1990s.
In 1987, Ms. Wildman enrolled at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1992, and also earned the Master of Science degree in Nursing in 1994. She attended Pace University from 1996 to 1998, where she earned a Post Master's Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
