In May 2011, the Department of Family Medicine was pleased to welcome Nicole Range, MSW to our faculty as Clinical Instructor. In this role, Ms. Range collaborates with our faculty psychiatrist Dr. Sanford Herman to provide education and mentoring for residents and students in behavioral medicine. Ms. Range also provides direct social work assistance to patients in Suite B and at Family Health Services, and she sets an outstanding example for residents and students alike.
Ms. Range attended the State University of New York College at Brockport, where she earned the Bachelor of Science degree in 2006 with major concentration in Social Work. She continued her Social Work studies at New York University, earning her Master of Social Work degree in 2007. From 2007 through 2011, Ms. Range was employed in Brooklyn by MercyFirst, a large not-for-profit human services agency. While with MercyFirst, Ms. Range served first as a Therapeutic Caseworker providing intensive case management, crisis intervention, and community referrals, and then as a Preventive Caseworker providing goal-directed counseling to a caseload of eleven families.
