Visiting Medical Students

Fourth year medical students from International, US Medical & Osteopathic Schools interested in our Emergency Medicine or Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Residency programs are encouraged to apply to one of our several elective rotations. The rotating student will work with the attending faculty as well as the current emergency medicine residents. Applicants must be in good academic standing at their parent school, must have their school's approval to participate in the desired elective, and must have liability insurance coverage. Please refer to http://www.downstate.edu/emergency_medicine/fourthyear.html for course descriptions of the rotations we offer.

For eligibility, application deadlines, procedures, forms and housing information please refer to the Registrar's website at http://sls.downstate.edu/registrar/visiting/index.html.

For additional questions or concerns about the process, feel free to email the Registrar at visitstudent@downstate.edu or call 718-270-1107.
