SUNY Downstate Department of Dermatology

Residency Application

The Department of Dermatology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center is currently accepting applications for the 2012 residency match. Our program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

Due Date

The application and supporting documents for the 2012 Residency match must be received no later than November 15, 2011. Due to the high number of applications we receive, this date cannot be altered.

Criteria

Selection is determined by a number of factors, including academic achievement, clinical competence, potential academic career, and personal attributes. When your application is completed and all supporting documents are received, your file will be reviewed by our Residency Selection Committee.

Interview Dates

Interviews are by invitation only. Candidates will be notified by e-mail during the month of December 2011. Interviews will be conducted on selected Wednesdays during the months of December and January.

Our program does not currently participate in the ERAS online application system.

Other Requirements

A one year of ACGME approved residency training in the United States must be completed. The year must include four months from one of the following: Medicine, Surgery, OB/Gyn, or Pediatrics.
