The State University of New York has approved the Medical Acupuncture program at Downstate as a non-credit certificate (HEGIS #5299) program meeting the 300-hours requirement to become a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture in New York State.
SUNY Downstate Medical Center designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 50 hours of Category 1 credits toward the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award (AMA/PRA). Each physician is awarded a certificate in accordance with AMA guidelines for continuing medical education on new procedure and skills training.
This program is approved by the American Board of Medical Acupunture as meeting the minimum educational standards for Board Certification with the ABMA.
