Description:
This lecture will focus on the management of patients with lung cancer, emphysema, esophageal cancer, and mediastinal diseases. The focus will be on surgical techniques and rational.  Natural history will be reviewed as well as some research findings.  Surgical approaches to this condition and outcomes will be reviewed.

Objectives:

1 increase competency in the development of cardio thoracic surgery
2. describe various approaches for surgery
3. improve their performance with new emerging procedures

Internal medicine physicians, surgeons, residents, fellows and general practitioners
