Vincent Garofalo provides computer graphics design/production and digital photography for the teaching and research needs of the Department of Cell Biology, also Physiology/Pharmacology and Biochemistry. This includes production of Powerpoint-based lectures, departmental public-relations photography, Quicktime VR production for the PRIME web site, photography and video editing for the Gross Anatomy Lab, design of all graphics-related materials for The Center for Cardiovascular and Muscle Research (CCMR) and The Suny Eye Institute. Design consultant, in conjunction with Dr. Eva Cramer, for the Downstate Biotech Incubator and the BioBAT Facility located at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. Also, preparation of graphics for lecture hand-outs and research papers, design and production of research posters, image scanning and retouching. Responsible for maintaining and updating the Cell Biology web site and conference room audio visual equipment.

Mr. Garofalo is the Macintosh Systems Administrator primarily for The Department of Cell Biology, Administrative Staff of the Gross Anatomy Lab, also for faculty and staff from any Department at Downstate. This position involves computer application instruction and technical support for faculty and staff; maintaining , at present, approximately 70 Mac computers; design, implementation and maintenance of the Cell Biology departmental file backup system including the Suny Eye Institute’s Data Acquisition Lab, under the direction of Dr. William Brunken.
