He is the Program Director of the Critical Care Section of the Anesthesiology Program. He received his M.D. degree from Aleppo University Medical School in Aleppo, Syria in 1983. He completed his residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in 1992. He completed a Critical Care Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 1994. He completed a Neurosurgical Anesthesia Fellowship at SUNY in 1995. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.
