Establish Your Own Fund

Major gifts provide an opportunity for alumni to make a meaningful and ongoing source of support for the Alumni Association. One way to do this is to establish a named fund.

Over 90 alumni have established named funds. For a minimum of $10,000 donation (which can be made in installments) alumni can underwrite a new named fund with a general or designated purpose. This could be used to establish an endowment to support various programs such as tuition scholarships, research fellowships, White Coat Ceremony and Health Care in Developing Countries to name just a few.

Alumni, who underwrite funds in support of tuition scholarships or research fellowships, have the opportunity to meet or speak with the student they support. Some alumni maintain ongoing communication with these students throughout their years at Downstate and beyond.
