A Healthy Downstate Class Schedule Summer 2012

Aerobics and Strength Training Quinn Harris

Classes consist of a moderate/intense
mix of cardio, strength training exercise,
and boot camp with free weights and
resistance bands. All great for burning
calories, sculpting, and toning.

  Tuesday and Thursday 5:15 pm
Zumba Sifa Marti

Zumba is a Latin-inspired, easy-tofollow,
calorie-burning, feel-it-to-thecore
fi tness program that uses Cumbia,
Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Samba,
Belly dancing, Bhangra, Hip-hop, and
Tango dance moves and rhythms.

  Wednesday 5:15 pm
Running Program Dr. Riccardo Bianchi

There will be classes for the beginner runner,
the recreational runner and for the elite
runner. Various pace groups will be led by
experienced runners who are students and
employees of SUNY Downstate..

  2 Evenings - Times to be determined
Prospect Park
Walking Program Michelle Tallos-Amato

A 30-45 minute walk during lunch hour
breaks. Groups walk at various paces.

  Monday and Wednesday
Meeting at various times and locations
Free
Stair Climbing Rose Jackman

A 15-20 minute program to do repeats
of stair climbing at your own pace. This
is an intense program and participants
must already be engaged in other exercise
activities.

  Tuesday and Thursday
Meeting at various times and locations
Free
Salsa Robert Baril

Learn the basic steps of Salsa (partner not
necessary) which includes steps, turns,
and how to lead or follow your partner.

  Friday 5:15 pm
Line Dancing Douglas Hawkins

A fun after work dance class workout.
Learn the most popular line dancing
moves (some simple and some complex).
Once you learn the dances, teach them to
your friends and family.

  Friday 4:15 and 5:15 pm
